For several days the residents of Ghateshwar Nagar in Assagao, Bardez, have been living in the darkness as the street lights remain dysfunctional. The absence of illumination along the streets has created hazardous conditions, with continuous traffic flow posing a serious risk of accidents.
Despite numerous complaints from concerned locals, authorities have yet to address the issue, leaving residents frustrated and apprehensive about their safety. Even attempts to contact the electricity office have proven futile, with lines constantly busy, hindering any possibility of resolving the matter through direct communication.
The installation of two high mast lights was intended to alleviate such concerns, yet their non-functioning state has exacerbated the problem, amplifying the need for immediate action. Residents are calling for urgent repairs and maintenance to restore proper lighting and ensure the well-being of all who traverse the area.
In the interest of public safety, residents implore the authorities to prioritize this matter and swiftly address the longstanding issue before any untoward incidents occur. It is imperative that the concerns of the community are acknowledged and remedial measures are promptly implemented to illuminate the streets of Ghateshwar Nagar once again.
