Depositors of Visionary Credit Society expressed disappointment during the Panchayat Chalo Program at Benaulim. The depositors on Friday went to meet Environment Minister Alexio Sequeira with the intention to voice out their grievances but the depositors faced harsh behaviour from the minister. The depositors accused the minister of speaking foul and rude language.
At the Panchayat Chalo program at Benaulim, there was a heated exchange of words between depositors and the minister. The depositors have also accused that the minister had promised to give at least 5 lakhs to the depositors.
Responding to this accusation, the Environment Minister said, “I can’t keep saying I had promised. If the Congress government comes to power we will give 5 lakhs each, unfortunately, congress didn't come to power so there is no question of promises.”
Meanwhile, Benaulim MLA Venzy has accused that he was not invited to the Panchayat Chalo program at Benaulim being a local mla this is a very wrong step of the government. He also said Aleixo Sequeira who is representing the Nuvem constituency should first solve the problems of his own constituency people are not even getting water to drink and he is coming to my constituency to solve people problems secondly it’s very bad to talk to people in such a rude language
