The District Magistrate of North Goa has taken decisive measures to maintain law and order. Effective from 6 pm on May 5, 2025, until 6 pm on May 8, 2025, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been imposed across all Assembly Constituencies in the district.

Under this order, any gathering of five or more persons, including contesting candidates and their workers, will be considered unlawful. This prohibition extends to processions, rallies, or any activities posing a threat to public peace.

Moreover, the use of vehicles by contesting candidates for campaigning purposes is strictly regulated. Only those vehicles authorized by the Returning Officer, District Election Officer (DEO), or Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) will be allowed on the roads, with stringent checks in place to prevent the distribution of money, gifts, or liquor.

Moreover the loudspeakers are barred from use between 6 pm on May 5 and 6 pm on May 7, 2025, except for authorized personnel on election duty or specific exemptions granted by the authorities.

However, these restrictions do not impede door-to-door campaigning, which remains permissible. Additionally, exemptions are granted for public servants on duty, essential processions like marriage or funeral rites, religious functions, and other occasions deemed genuine with prior written permission from the concerned authorities.
