The water level at the Anjunem Dam has drastically reduced following the scorching summer. According to data provided by the Water Resources Department, based on the dam level monitoring, the reservoir only has 17% of its total capacity left to meet water requirements until the monsoon sets in.

Goa facing a severe water shortage due to the summer heat has led to the water level of dams in the state dropping below 50%. As per data released by the Water Resources Department (WRD), the water level of the Anjunem reservoir, which serves Sattari and parts of Bicholim taluka, stands at 22 % till 10th May 2024. Whereas, a recent data shows that the water level has plummeted to a concerning 17%.

The State's dams' diminishing water levels have sparked worries once more as the intense summer heat continues to wreak havoc. As per the dam level monitoring report issued by the water resource department of Goa, the water percentage remaining in the Goan dams are as follows: Selaulim 29%, Tillari 32%, Anjunem 17%, Chapoli 46%, Amthane 33%, Gaunem 47% and Panchawadi 20%.

Stating that the water levels in dams across the state are satisfactory, the WRD Minister in April claimed that there will be no immediate concerns regarding water scarcity during the summer season.
