The alleged owner of Curlies Club Edwin Nunes, who was arrested for submitting a fake Covid certificate during his bail period, was released on conditional bail in this case. He was released on a surety amount of Rs 15000.
The Anjuna Police arrested Edwin Nunes after he appeared before them on Thursday. The police were looking for him for the last many days for allegedly submitting a fake Covid-19 certificate. Edwin was earlier granted conditional bail in the alleged murder of Sonali Phogat after drugs were recovered from the Curlies washroom but he violated the bail conditions imposed by the court.
When summoned for investigations by the police he instead produced an alleged forged Covid-19 certificate from a private diagnostics laboratory and failed to turn up before the investigating officer.
Following this, the police moved for cancellation of his bail before the Additional Sessions Court, Mapusa for violation of bail conditions. The Court gave two days time for the accused to appear before the police.
