Goa Police Cracks Down on Illegal Cricket Betting; arrest two

In a major crackdown on illicit activities apprehension of two individuals engaged in an online cricket betting racket. During the highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, the Goa Police conducted a well-coordinated raid in the Shirgal, Dhargal, and Pernem. The operation, spearheaded by Police Inspector Rahul T. Parab and Police Sub-Inspector Girish T. Padloaskar, along with their dedicated team.

The raid was carried out between 9:10 PM and 11:00 PM on an undisclosed location, where the police team swooped in and nabbed the suspects. The accused were identified as Pratik, a 29-year-old resident of Surat and Mihirbhai, a 29-year-old both native of Gujarat.

During the raid, the police seized a substantial amount of evidence, including laptops, mobile phones, and other gambling paraphernalia, collectively valued at approximately Rs. 1,50,000. Both accused were immediately arrested. 

The investigation has revealed that the two arrested individuals were part of a larger criminal network, with another prime accused individual believed to be the mastermind behind the illegal betting operation. The Goa Police Crime Branch, led by PI Rahul T. Parab, is now trying to trace and apprehend this individual.
