Goa experienced heavy unseasonal on Saturday morning. Many places in both North and South Goa witnessed heavy rainfall along with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the next five days, cautioning about the possibility of heavy rains and adverse weather conditions.

In light of the alert, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during this period to ensure their safety. A massive raincloud has been spotted hovering over Goa, as well as parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka, indicating widespread rainfall in the region.

Reports suggest that along with the rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected to prevail in both North and South Goa for the next three to four hours, heightening concerns about potential disruptions and safety hazards.

In the Smart City Panjim, the impact of the rainfall is already being felt, with roads beginning to clog due to the downpour. Some areas, particularly those under construction, have witnessed instances of roads sinking, raising concerns about infrastructure stability.
