About 500 new Goa Police recruits were sent to Delhi by the Goa Police for 6 months of training. Reports have surfaced that these recruits are protesting due to the unhygienic food and saltwater served to them due to which many have fallen sick. When the recruits protested, they were beaten and two Goan recruits were admitted to a local hospital.
Herald TV also received complaints that the recruits were not given food on some days and they were made to live in filthy, inhuman surroundings. Bossuet Silva who is holding charge of SP Headquarters said he is not aware of any food poisoning of recruits in New Delhi.
