A Cansaulim resident Deleno Bosco, son of Joseph Fernandes and resident of H.No. 63, Arossim Falwaddo, Cansaulim, has filed a complaint with the Verna police, detailing a harrowing ordeal of extortion and blackmail. According to Bosco, he was targeted by a group of individuals who coerced him into transferring a staggering sum of money under threat of compromising videos being shared online.

The complaint outlines that Bosco was approached by accused individuals, purportedly led by Zeeta Fernandes, a native of Angadi, Mukeri, Karnataka, through a dating application called "Chat Karo." Establishing a friendship with Bosco, Fernandes initiated a video call which soon took a sinister turn as she began to blackmail him. Allegedly, Fernandes threatened to disseminate compromising videos of Bosco online unless he complied with their demands for money.

Under duress, Bosco transferred a total of Rs. 1,35,00,000/- through various transactions into different bank accounts provided by the accused parties. The transfers were made on separate occasions, with Bosco resorting to cash deposits through machines across multiple banks to meet the demands of the blackmailers.

Further investigation by the Verna police has led to the identification and subsequent booking of two additional suspects in connection with the case. Marry Fernandes and Shankar Jadhav, both hailing from Angadi, Mukeri, Karnataka, have been implicated in the alleged extortion scheme.

Authorities are currently conducting a thorough probe into the matter, aiming to apprehend all involved parties and bring them to justice. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with online interactions and the importance of vigilance in safeguarding personal information and privacy in the digital age.
