The High Court has set aside the externment orders that were passed against Pastor Dominic and his wife Joanne Dsouza. Both had filed individual petitions seeking cancellation of the externment orders against them.

Pastor Dominic and Wife Joan were externed from Goa for 6 Months by North Goa Collector through an order that was passed on March 16.

Dominic and Joan had filed a petition before the HC praying for quashing of the order claiming that there was no live link between the offence and the reason for externment.

According to the order, Pastor Domnic and his wife Joan were required to report their place of residence to the officer in charge of the nearest police station once every month, even if there is no change in their address. Additionally, if they leave the state of Goa, they must inform the authorities within 10 days of their departure. Upon their return to the state, they are mandated to report their arrival within 10 days to the nearest police station.

The counsel for Pastor Dominic and Joan have said that most of the offences that are registered against them are either disposed, A summary or have no live link with the offences relied upon for externment.

It can be recalled that earlier in the month of January, Goa Police had arrested Pastor Dominic D’Souza on charges of alleged involvement in black magic and religious conversion activities, following a complaint by Vadivel B, a resident of Tamil Nadu currently residing in Curti-Ponda.
