India Records Highest Daily COVID-19 Cases Since May 21, Reports 614 New Infections

India has reported a spike in new coronavirus infections, reaching 614 cases, marking the highest daily count since May 21, as per the latest data from the Union Health Ministry updated on Wednesday. The total number of active cases has risen to 2,311.

The death toll has reached 5,33,321, with three new fatalities reported in Kerala within the last 24 hours, according to the 8 am update.

The cumulative Covid-19 case tally for the country stands at 4.50 crore (4,50,05,978). On a positive note, the number of recoveries has reached 4,44,70,346, reflecting a national recovery rate of 98.81%. The case fatality rate remains at 1.19%.

The Health Ministry's website indicates that a significant number of COVID-19 vaccine doses, totalling 220.67 crore, have been administered across the country.

These statistics highlight the ongoing challenges in managing the COVID-19 situation in India, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance and vaccination efforts to curb the spread of the virus.
