A 33-year-old Indian
origin mother from North Carolina was arrested this week under grave
accusations of causing the death of her 10-year-old son. Priyanka Tiwari faces
charges of first-degree murder and negligent child abuse resulting in serious
bodily injury.
The tragic incident came
to light when officers from the Morrisville Police Department responded to a
distress call at Tiwari's residence on Craigmeade Drive. Tiwari herself had
made the 911 call reporting an unresponsive boy. Tragically, upon arrival, the
boy was found deceased, his body in an advanced state of decomposition.
Investigations revealed
an alarming lack of sustenance within the home, almost no food to be found.
Authorities allege that Tiwari deliberately and maliciously caused her son's
death through starvation. Additionally, reports suggest that Tiwari had been
difficult to reach, prompting multiple welfare checks initiated by concerned
family members in India over the past year.
