The delegation of Kerala State Biodiversity Board visited Shristhal, Canacona Biodiversity Management Committee as part of a learning program.

A delegation headed by Dr. V. Balakrishnan, Member Secretary of Kerala State Biodiversity Board along with Board Members Dr. C.S. Vimalkumar, Dr. K.T.Chandramohanan and Shri  K.V. Govindan and Varsha Hoble as a mentor from Goa State Biodiversity Board discussed with Traditional healers locally known as Vakhdalis at Gulem and interacted with BMC as well as Panch members about the functioning of BMC. Thereafter the team participated in the Peoples Biodiversity Register (PBR) presentation and appreciated the work of BMC, especially for recording the old traditions and words in the local language.


BMC Chairman Vinay Tubki welcomed the gathering on behalf of BMC and Panchayat while Member Shirish Pai briefed about the functioning of BMC and gave PBR Presentation of PBR and Member Damodar Chari proposed a vote of Thanks. 

BMC Member Anjali Gaonkar, Chanda Desai, and Govind Velip along with Sub Committee member Tejas Naik Gaonkar, Rajay Bhandari, Satish Gosavi, and Dipak Bowalkar as  co-ordinator for TSG also participated in the discussion along with Sarpanch Sejal Gaonkar, Panch Member  Akshada Velip, Ganesh Gaonkar, Livia Naik  and ex Panch Sanju Naik, 

The BMC has thanked the Board and especially the Member Secretary Dr. Pradip Sarmokadam for giving me the opportunity of hosting the delegation.
