Lok Sabha Elections are likely to be held in Goa in April 2024, informed Chief Electoral Officer (CEO)- Goa, Ramesh Verma, IAS. He was speaking to media persons after holding meeting with political parties regarding the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Four parties – BJP, Congress, AAP and Goa Forward attended the meeting. Party members asked CEO to intimate Election Commission of India (ECI) about considering that fact that Holy week is held in Goa in April, while preparing the Election schedule.
Parties also asserted that strict vigil be maintained on misuse of postal ballots to give advantage to certain parties. During the meeting SOPs and details of First level Checking (FLC) of EVMs and VVPATs to be held from Oct 4 to Oct 13 were shared with the parties.
