The 133rd birth anniversary was celebrated of B.R. Ambedkar at Sancoale on Sunday, April 14th with great enthusiasm. Locals stated that as per B.R Ambedkar if you need political democracy to function rightfully then social democracy must function rightfully. On this auspicious day, locals urge the public to learn about democracy and use legal means to combat all immoral activities.

On Sunday, as the locals celebrate the B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti, the locals highlight his teachings and his lifelong struggle to eradicate the concept of untouchability. Speaking on the occasion, one local stated, “B.R. Ambedkar is the godfather of the Indian constitution. He has blessed our country with a constitution that we all follow. He would always stress upon ‘Educate, Agitate and Organise’. We currently find ourselves in a position where the initiatives that the current government is proposing to us are being presented to a public that is mostly unaware of their true character. To ensure that the public is aware of what is going on around us, we need to educate ourselves on issues such as the railway expansion plan, the coal expansion plan, the river diversion issue, etc.”

The locals stressed how the social democracy of our country is in danger. They also expressed that the current government is using religion as their weapon and has suppressed the voices of the minority. The foundation which B.R. Ambedkar has laid for the future of our country is being completely destroyed by the present government.

The locals urge the Goan citizens to carry forward the legacy of B.R. Ambedkar and his teachings. They requested the public to elect a rightful candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
