Shop owners in Margao Market have raised serious concerns over various issues that are affecting their businesses. The new market trader’s association has demanded to shut down all the road businesses as customers buy things from these vendors, which affects their business immensely.
Some shop owners said that they have been in the Margao market for more than 80 years but have never gone through so much loss. They further said that because of these roadside vendors, people are not even ready to enter the market.
Additionally, the member of the association, Vinod Shirodkar, said that the parking issue is the biggest setback for us shop owners. Because there is no proper arrangement for parking near the market, people are turning towards malls where they can park their cars and go shopping. Shirodkar has further requested to solve this issue as soon as possible.
