In Tuesday's session of the Goa legislative assembly, the topic of job opportunities and unemployment took centre stage once again. The discussion was initiated by a local MLA who raised concerns about the employment prospects for young individuals who had undergone training at the Aviation Skill Development Centre.
During the deliberation, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant provided a reassuring update, revealing that an impressive 90 per cent of the youth who completed their training at the Aviation Skill Development Centre located at Mopa Airport have successfully secured employment.
However, Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar posed an important question regarding the specific number of youths who have benefited from the ASDC program at Mopa Airport. He also expressed concerns about the future of candidates who have completed the course but are currently unemployed.
Another perspective on the matter was presented by Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, who inquired about the international recognition of the courses offered by the Aviation Skill Development Centre at Mopa. In response, the Chief Minister acknowledged the significance of international recognition and assured that he would investigate the matter further. If necessary, he indicated his willingness to encourage GMR, the company responsible for the centre, to pursue international recognition for the courses.
