Mapusa Municipal Council Employees have threatened to go on strike on October 20, if their demands are not fulfilled by then. They have demanded a hearse van for the benefit of employees or family members, an office for the municipal union, payment of wages of daily workers by the 10th of every month, regularisation of services of daily workers, who have worked for several years, etc.
The workers informed that despite voicing their demands, the Mapusa municipality has failed to address them and hence, they are currently protesting silently by wearing black arm bands.
