Margao: Margao, the depot for inter-state and KTC shuttle buses used by a substantial number of people, is facing severe road infrastructure challenges within the KTC bus stand premises. The road conditions have deteriorated significantly, causing inconvenience to both buses and pedestrians.
One of the entry roads to the bus stand has become virtually impassable due to its deteriorated state. Additionally, the internal roads within the bus stand exhibit rough surfaces, posing difficulties for bus operators and pedestrians alike.
What makes this situation even more disheartening is the fact that the Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL) laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art bus terminus at Margao 12 years ago. The inauguration took place on Dussehra day in 2011, with former Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane officiating the ceremony while Digambar Kamat was the State's Chief Minister.
Despite these auspicious beginnings, the promised modern bus terminus remains a dream for the people of Margao. The deteriorating road conditions within the KTC bus stand highlight the urgency of addressing long-standing infrastructure issues and fulfilling the commitments made over a decade ago. Margao residents and commuters continue to hope for improved transportation facilities.
