Mormugao Police Apprehends Two Suspects with Ganja Worth Rs 65,000

Mormugao police have detained two individuals found in possession of a substantial quantity of Ganja valued at Rs 65,000 near the Baina sewerage plant. Acting on credible information, law enforcement strategically set up a trap to apprehend the suspects.


According to an official statement from Mormugao Police, "We received reliable information that two individuals would be delivering a narcotic substance. Following this tip, we laid a trap and successfully arrested the two accused."


Upon inspection, the police confiscated 650 grams of Ganja, equivalent to approximately Rs 65,000, from the accused who failed to provide any legal documentation supporting their ownership.

Addressing ongoing concerns in Mormugao, the police asserted, "Our operations will persist with the right intentions. Any illicit activities, whether related to narcotics or any other crime, will be met with necessary action."


The arrested individuals are now facing charges under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. Ongoing investigations are in progress, and further details are anticipated to be disclosed soon.
