A 23-year-old man, who was wanted in a murder case, has been apprehended near Noida after engaging in a gunfight with the police, resulting in his injuries. The incident took place on Monday night, according to officials.
The suspect, identified as Nazim, had a reward of Rs 25,000 on his arrest. He and his associates were allegedly involved in the killing of a liquor salesman in Greater Noida's New Haibatpur village on March 31. The murder occurred after the salesman denied them alcohol during the late hours of the night, as reported by the police.
Nazim, a native of Meerut, was captured near Ek Murti Chowk in the Bisrakh police station area. The arrest came about following a thorough exchange of gunfire between Nazim and the police.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident and will proceed with legal proceedings against Nazim for his alleged involvement in the murder case. The injured suspect is receiving medical treatment for his injuries sustained during the gunfight.
