PORVORIM: Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral says those opposing the Dhargal flyover on NH 66 should be named and made to pay. At that time the local MLAs and a section of the people opposed the flyover fearing loss of business. But now due to the huge number of accidents Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar requested CM for a flyover.
CM said while the flyover was sanctioned by Union Minister Nitin Gadkar, it would cost an additional Rs 46 crores. CM said at that time there was protest and he had a letter with all the signatures not to have the flyover, since locals feared loss of business.
Both CM and Jit Arolkar were ready to the previous MLAs responsible for this, but CM said he would place the 2022 letter on the table on the house on Wednesday. Nilesh said that these representatives should be named and made to pay. Both MLAs of Mandrem in the previous two terms were of the BJP.
