The renovation project, which encompassed various critical areas, aimed at enhancing the overall experience for theatergoers and performers alike. Notable upgrades include the replacement of the entire flooring on the auditorium stage, comprehensive repairs to the sound system—which was previously operating at only 30% capacity due to its age—a revamp of the flooring around the wooden stage and green rooms, and the restoration of damaged seats. With these improvements, the auditorium now boasts its full seating capacity of 1069, with special accommodations made for six reserved seats designated for disabled individuals.

Acknowledging the collaborative effort that made this achievement possible, the authorities extend their gratitude to the diligent contractors, PWD DIV VIII EE Elvis, JE Gaurish, and the entire team at Ravindra Bhavan Margao for their unwavering dedication.

To ensure a seamless return to the stage, two trial shows of Tiatr by Pascol de Chicalim and Menino de Bhandar were conducted, allowing organizers to address any lingering issues. As a token of appreciation for their participation, both groups received remuneration of Rs 30,000.

In tandem with the auditorium's grand reopening, Ravindra Bhavan Margao has announced the launch of the Ravindra Bhavan Film Club, catering to cinephiles eager to explore cinematic gems. Membership forms will be available on the official website and can also be obtained from the Ravindra Bhavan office on weekdays from 10 am to 5:30 pm. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their filled forms along with the nominal membership fee of Rs. 1000 to the office. The film club promises a diverse lineup of screenings, with plans for a mini International Film Festival and a National Award-winning film festival annually. Moreover, attendees can look forward to engaging sessions with film experts and celebrities during screenings.

Mark your calendars as the film screening schedule kicks off on June 15, 2024, offering a blend of captivating narratives and cinematic excellence.

In a bid to further elevate the cultural landscape, plans are underway to upgrade the auditorium for film screenings during the upcoming International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024, with the support of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant through ESG.

Even amidst the monsoon rains, cultural aficionados can still indulge in the vibrant Khula Manch weekly shows, which will seamlessly transition to the conference hall.

The grand reopening of Pai Tiatrist Auditorium heralds a new chapter in Margao's cultural journey, promising enriching experiences and vibrant performances for years to come.
