Pakistan Air Force Base in Mianwali Successfully Thwarts Terrorist Attack
Published on

In a recent incident that unfolded on November 4, 2023, a group of six heavily armed terrorists launched a daring assault on the Mianwali Training Air Base, a prominent Pakistan Air Force (PAF) facility located in Punjab. The attackers attempted to breach the base's defences in the early hours of the day, triggering an exchange of gunfire with security personnel.

The PAF swiftly responded to the threat, ensuring that the terrorists were prevented from infiltrating the airbase. In a remarkable display of courage and efficiency, the security forces managed to neutralize three of the assailants before they could breach the base's perimeter. The remaining three terrorists were subsequently cornered and isolated due to the timely and effective response by the troops.

Although the attack was successfully thwarted, it was not without consequences. During the exchange of fire, three grounded aircraft and a fuel bowser were damaged. Despite this, the response from the Pakistan Armed Forces was instrumental in safeguarding the personnel and assets of the Mianwali Training Air Base.

The attackers employed a ladder to scale the fortified walls surrounding the airbase, and they were armed with sophisticated weaponry. Multiple planes within the Air Force base sustained damage as a result of the attack. The extent of the damage has been confirmed by the Pakistan Army, though they have described the incident as a "failed terrorist attack."
