BJP Candidate of South Goa Pallavi Dempo has sworn a combined affidavit of a networth pegging to almost Rs 1400 crore. This make her the richest candidate to have ever contested any polls in Goa.

Pallavi Dempo filed her nomination for the South Goa seat on Tuesday. She reached the District Election Office (DEO) in a huge display of strength and fanfare. But what really stole the show were the wealth that Pallavi Dempo has sworn in her affidavit which is combined i.e. Shrinivas Dempo and herself at Rs 1400 crore. Pallavi in her 119 page affidavit is worth Rs 255.44 crore and spouse Shrinivas is worth Rs. 998.83 crore.

Most of the wealth shown in the affidavit is from share holdings in 81 different companies and bonds purchased in some of the top brands and banks of India and World. Dempos have mining, shipbuilding, sports, luxury homes in Dubai and London exquisite cars and a lot of jewellery and investment.

It may be recalled that in 2007 and 2012 elections Anil Salgaonkar had sworn an affidavit of around Rs 91 crore worth while Dinar Tarcar had claimed over Rs 110 crores as wealth which was highest at that time. Dempo was a leader in mining business in Goa until 2009 when the group decided to sell all its Mining operations to Sesa Goa. The Dempos exited the mining business right before the mining boomed and was ultimately stopped by Former CM Later Manohar Parrikar. It is also known that the Dempos expanded their mining business into other regions of India and the world.

Dempos also own the Dempo Football Club and are banking on the fanbase of the club that is spread across Goa, prominently in Salcete.
