School headmaster working as OGW arrested with pistols at J-K, Chinese grenades in Poonch

The police in Jammu and Kashmir, in a combined effort with the Special Operations Group (SOG), apprehended a school headmaster who was also a registered overground worker (OGW). The arrest took place in Poonch district, where the headmaster was found to own foreign-made pistols and Chinese grenades in the Hari Budha area. Authorities believe that this seized arsenal was intended to disrupt the upcoming election in Poonch, prompting a search operation currently underway.

Working together, the 39 RR of 6 Sector, Romeo Force, along with JKP and SOG Poonch, successfully located and detained the OGW known as Qamaruddin. The suspect, who also held a position as headmaster at a local school, was found to have a foreign-made pistol and several grenades within his residence. Police are currently conducting further investigations to determine the exact purpose of this weapons cache and its potential role in the disruption of the upcoming election in Poonch. Two Chinese grenades and a Pakistani pistol were among the items confiscated from the OGW, according to Poonch police.

The individual identified as Qamaruddin has been taken into custody and charged accordingly. Poonch police have stated that the confiscated items are believed to have been intended for use in causing unrest during the upcoming election in Poonch.
