'Surmayi Shaam' at Ravindra Bhavan Margao on March 10th on the occasion of Women's Day

Ravindra Bhavan Margao is set to host a special celebration for International Women's Day on Sunday, March 10th, starting at 6:30 pm. The event will take place at the open lawn area of Ravindra Bhavan Margao and promises an evening filled with appreciation for women's achievements and a delightful cultural program titled 'Surmayi Shaam.'


As part of the celebration, four outstanding women from the Margao Municipal Area will be honored for their exemplary contributions to various fields including social service, education, health, literature, and business. The felicitation ceremony will be presided over by the esteemed ex-Chief Minister and MLA of Margao, Digambar Kamat.


The distinguished awardees for their selfless service to society are:

Sunanda Shankar Parsekar (Education)

Auda Viegas (Social Work)

Mangala V. Harmalkar (Literature)

Sharada Damodar Naik (Business)


The cultural highlight of the evening, 'Surmayi Shaam,' will feature performances by renowned singers Sadhana Sargam, known for hits like "Pehla Nasha" and "Saat Samundar Par"; Vaishali Samant, popular for songs like "Aika Dajiba" and "Kombdi Palali"; and Anandi Joshi, who will enchant the audience with "Kuni Yenar ga." The talented actress and singer Varsha Usgaonkar will also join the lineup, presenting Konkani superhit songs.


The musical ensemble for the evening will include Digambar Mankar, Mayuresh Sherlekar, Kishor Narkhede, Prabhakar Mosamkar, Amit Gothivrekar, and Omkar Devaskar. The event will be expertly compered by Smita Gavankar, and the sound will be managed by Audhoot Wadkar.


Ravindra Bhavan Chairman, Rajendra Talak, has extended a warm invitation to all art lovers, urging them to attend this celebration in large numbers.
