The Taleigao Village Panchayat Election held in 2024
concluded with a notable display of 68.79 percent of voters turned out in
significant numbers from the opening of polls at 8:00 AM until the conclusion.
Across the 17 designated polling stations, a total of 11,988 eligible voters
exercised their democratic right, indicating a robust engagement of the Taleigao
community in the electoral process.
While candidates in Wards 1, 6, 10, and 11 secured their
positions unopposed, the contested wards saw voters express their preferences
with clarity and determination. Notably, Ward 7 witnessed the highest voter
turnout percentage at 80.16%, underscoring a strong civic spirit and active
involvement in the electoral proceedings.
The polling process for the Taleigao Village Panchayat
Election of 2024 proceeded smoothly, with no reports of any untoward incidents
disrupting the proceedings. Peace prevailed throughout the day as voters
exercised their franchise in a tranquil atmosphere. Looking ahead, the
anticipation now shifts to the counting of votes, scheduled to take place on
April 29th, 2024, at the Auditorium Hall in Bal Bhavan, Campal, Panaji, Goa,
beginning at 8:00 AM.
