Goa: The 10th edition of India Bike Week (IBW) 2023 roared to a thundering beginning on Saturday (December 8), with the ‘Day 1’ of the two-day event witnessing thousands of bikers and biking enthusiasts gathering to soak in and celebrate the spirit of adventure and camaraderie.

Martin da Costa, founder and CEO, 70EMG and Festival Director welcomed the bikers attending the IBW on the first day of the event. “I cannot wait to meet everyone here. We’re calling this edition 10x because it has been 10 years since IBW rode to Goa’s shores. We’ve planned it to be enormous and it has definitely started off as one!”

The venue at Vagator has been divided into five main segments. The Main Stage included events like ‘Meet the Bikers’, ‘Manufacturer Parades’, ‘Mod Bike Rideup’, ‘IBW Collectors Corner’, motorcycle announcements, launches and other events and the Ladakh Tent featured events like a panel discussion with travel creators, shooting reels and riding, talks by experienced bikers and more.

The Howling Dog Bar section featured an eclectic mix of conversations with biking communities and meeting women biking enthusiasts at ‘She rides. She works.’. The Club Village hosted exciting club games for the motorcyclists.

The Big Trip, a platform which celebrates the spirit of epic motorcycling adventure had bikers Noor (Nomadic Hijabi Rider) talking about her experiences of breaking stereotypes of a Muslim woman riding a motorcycle and Arjun Raina (MotoExotica India) expressing his journey in breathing to life his passion for motorcycles. Juvena Huang (The Wandering Wasp) spoke about her travels on her trusty Vespa and couple Simon and Lisa Thomas spoke about their motorcycling journey together over the span of 17 years.

IBW’s eclectic musical line-up never fails to disappoint. Day 1 boasted heart-thumping and feet-bopping performances by Nucleya, NASH, Disco Kid, Aarifah Rebello, DJ Sam and more.

Bikers could also tuck into some delicious food at the IBW 2023 via The Big Forkers Meat Fest, which celebrates the art of curing, grilling, smoking and barbecuing meats in India, from Goan Chorizo to whole hog roasts by grill masters Alistair Lethorn, Arjun Sikdar, Christopher Fernandes, Delzad Khurshad Avari, Buland Shukla and Charlton Mendes.
