The Election Icon rally flagged off from the South Goa Collectorate office on Wednesday. The rally aims to create awareness for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. The rally is determined to achieve a 100 percent voting turnout this year, especially in areas that had a low turnout in the last election. With attractive performances and engaging activities, the rally will stress the importance of voting and encourage people to participate in the democratic process.

Speaking to the media, Deepali Naik, the Director of the Women and Child Development Department, informed that this will be a full-day event, starting from the SGPDA market. A flash mob will be held to create awareness among the people.

Deepali Naik further stated that a question-and-answer session will be conducted, and those who answer all the questions correctly will be awarded. Following this, the icon rally will proceed to a low-voter-turnout area in Beanaulim, as it was reported to have had a very low voter turnout last year.

A special force, comprising all the icon rally dignitaries, self-help groups, NRLM staff, and BLO staff, will perform to create awareness about the upcoming election and encourage citizens to vote, to achieve a 100% voter turnout this year.

This comprehensive awareness drive is part of the state's efforts to engage the community and promote active participation in the electoral process. The event is expected to have a significant impact on improving voter turnout, particularly in the areas that have historically witnessed low voter engagement.
