One cow and four calves were killed in a tragic accident at Panjorkhonim in Cuncolim on Tuesday. The incident has raised concerns among locals who stated that such accidents have become a recurring problem and accused the Cuncolim municipality for negligence.
According to residents, this event highlights a daily issue that the municipality has allegedly failed to address adequately. Despite the presence of a cattle pound and the appointment of a person specifically tasked with capturing stray cattle, the locals claim that the municipality's response remains insufficient. Locals emphasize the need for urgent action to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. They stated that the municipality must take more measures to address the issue of stray cattle in the area.
Expressing dismay, a local resident commented, "This incident occurred at 4 am and unfortunately, it's becoming a daily occurrence. The situation has spiraled, resulting in the loss of one cattle each day. The person hired by the municipality for the pound seems to be inactive, merely issuing directives from their office instead of actively addressing the issue. We earnestly urge the municipality to take concrete steps to address this dire situation."
