In West Bengal's Bankura district, a 23-year-old man, Rahul Lohar, allegedly died by suicide on Sunday night following India's defeat to Australia in the World Cup final. The incident took place around 11 pm near the Cinema Hall in the Beliatore police station area. Lohar, who had taken a day off from his job at a local clothing store to watch the crucial match, was heartbroken by India's loss and hanged himself in his room, according to his brother-in-law Uttam Sur. Sur stated that there were no apparent issues in Lohar's life apart from the emotional distress caused by the cricket match.

The body was sent to Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination on Monday morning. The police registered a case of unnatural death, and the investigation is ongoing. The tragic incident occurred when there was no one else present in the house.
