Vasco MLA Krishna Daji Salkar has issued a stern warning to cable operators regarding the removal of overhead and hanging cables from various nullahs in the city. Residents of Vasco have been facing significant hardships as the nullahs are getting blocked due to garbage entangling with these cables, exacerbating the issue of water drainage and causing flooding in several areas.
In a statement on Friday, MLA Salkar emphasized the urgency of the situation and called on cable operators to streamline and properly manage the cables that are currently obstructing the nullahs. He warned that failure to comply with this directive could result in stringent actions being taken against the operators.
"These cables are not only causing blockages but also posing a serious hazard to public safety. We need immediate action to ensure that the nullahs are free from any obstructions and that the drainage system functions smoothly, especially with the monsoon season approaching," said Daji Salkar.
Residents have welcomed the MLA’s intervention, hoping it will lead to a swift resolution of the issue that has plagued the community for a long time.
