ISL is here... empty stadiums again?

The eighth season of the Indian Super League (ISL), organised by the Football Sports Development Limited (FDSL), will kick off on November 19 and like the last 20-21, will be held at the three Goan stadiums – The Fatorda Stadium, the Athletic Stadium, Bambolim and Tilak Stadium Vasco. Title holders Mumbai City FC will test Durand Cup winners FC Goa on Nov 22 while last season’s finalist ATK Mohun Bagan will open the season against Kerala Blasters FC at the Nehru Stadium Fatorda. ALLAN VALENTINO D’CRUZ, who was tracking the teams in the off-season, has picked up players – Foreigners, home-grown stars and the youngsters -- who will hog the limelight in India’s premier tournament. Though matches were played with no spectators last season, there are chances that football aficionados may get a physical glimpse of the players with the pandemic in the State slowly loosening its grip on Goa.
