12 cyclists complete TriGoa’s 300km ride

PANJIM: A total of 12 cyclists completed the TriGoa Foundation’s 300km cycle ride recently. 

This included five cyclists who successfully completed their Super Randonneur (SR) series in this calendar year (one set of 200km, 300km, 400km and 600km rides). There are over 40 SR cyclists in Goa now.

In a media release, Rajesh Malhotra, founder, TriGoa Foundation said, “This TriGoa Brevets Randonneur Mondiaux (BRM) 300kms passed through the heart of Goa and touched the borders of the Maharashtra and Karnataka states. The route was picturesque over rolling hills and good roads. The TriGoa Audax Season of 2019-20 has concluded with this 300km ride.”

Neeraj Gupta completed the 300km ride in 13 hrs 55 mins followed by Fintan Dourado, Gaurav Gupta, Sunil Verma, Lazarus Noronha, Deepak Varghese, Nataraj Nayak, Umesh Velip, Prashant Tari, Koustubh Pawaskar, Rupesh Teli and Achintya Kambli.

The five cyclists completing their SRs were, Fintan Dourado, Sunil Verma, Umesh Velip, Nataraj Nayak from Goa and Rupesh Teli from Kudal. Riders who complete the BRMs of 200, 300, 400 and 600kms in one calendar year are called Super Randonneurs. Goa has over 40 Super Randonneurs with Venuvardhan Reddy holding the distinction of completing six, Super Randonneur series in one calendar year.

According to Malhotra, the fresh Audax season of 2020-21 would begin with the TriGoa Coastline-BRM 200kms and Brevet Populaire 100kms scheduled for November 22.
