PANJIM: Albert Developers defeated SKC Warriors by five wickets to emerge champions of the Sanguem T-20 leather ball cricket tournament, organised by Sanguem Cricketers, at Sanguem Cricket Academy ground, on Monday.

Shivam Dubey’s unbeaten knock of 123 off just 37 balls went in vein as Albert Developers clinched last-ball win. 

Put to bat by Albert Developers, SKC Warriors piled up a huge total of 246 for 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. 

In reply, Albert Developers achieved the target for the loss of five wickets. Keenan Vaz scored 94 runs in 47 balls and Darshan Misal scored unbeaten 69.  

Albert Developers required 21 runs in the last over but Darshan  and Sahil saw them through easily.

The winners Albert Developers were awarded Rs 55,555 and a trophy while SKC Warriors had to be content with a purse of Rs 33,333. PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar and GCA member Anant Naik.
