PANJIM: Guirdolim Club will be organising their 47th All-Goa cycle race in association with Bhise Brothers on January 1, at Guirdolim, at 7.30 a.m.

The race starts from Guirdolim junction and winds its way through Macazana, Curtorim, Maina, Sonsodo, Chowgule College junction and back to Guridolim via Agxem.

“We are proud to announce the 47th edition of the race as Guirdolim Club is the only club in the State to conduct such an event for past four decades,” said Guridolim Club President Patwin Fizardo.

The race will be held in three categories namely men, college category and above 45 years of age. There will be a special prize for the first finisher from the Chandor-Guirdolim village.

“We have received over 45 entries so far and this time we have Xaxti Riders confirming their participation along with various colleges such as Chowgule College, Rosary College, Navelim, Government College Quepem and we yet expecting more entries this year,” added Patwin.

“Besides the winners, top 20 finishers other than the winners will get the consolation prizes,” added Patwin.

This edition of the race shall have a new winner since the club had suspended three consecutive time champion Fredsan Marshall for indecent behavior in the previous edition.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudesh Bhise said, “The participants can confirm their entries to the president Patwin or through email at [email protected] Spot entries are also excepted provided the participants report at the venue by 7.30 a.m.”
