PANJIM: Anoop Vernekar unbeaten 69 guided Arlem Cricket Club to score a 27-run victory over Bannerman in the qualifying group match of 37th Nanda Lolayekar Trophy organised by Mashem Cricket Club, Cancona, at Nirakar Maidan Dapot, Mashem-Cancona, on Sunday.

Bannerman won the toss and elected to field. Arlem Cricket Club managed to score 201 runs losing nine wickets in 35 overs. Anoop 69 n.o., Manthan Khutkar 39, Murali Talekar 39 top scored for the team. 

At one stage Arlem Vernekar were reduced to 70 for 6 in 15 overs. But the seventh wicket partnership between Anup vernekar and Murli talekar of 114 runs gave them the respectable total of 201.

Roshan Naik 2/25, Kanji Gadvi 2/33 and Shashikant Parab 2/33 were the wicket takers for Bannerman

In their reply, Bannerman were reduced to 174 for all out in 32.2 overs. Govind Prasad 44 and Roshan Naik 26 batted to their best.Murali Talekar 2/26, Paul Fernandes 2/29 took two wickets each while Sanath Nevagi and Manthan khutkar managed one each. Next match will be played between Madkai Yuvak Sangh and Arlem Cricket Club.
