MAPUSA: Atharva Dhulapkar has set up a title clash with Rishan Shaikh in U13 Boys finals while Aaron Farias will face the challenge of Khushal Naik in U15 Boys finals, of the Bambolim Beach Resort State TT championship, at Peddem.
In U-13 semis, Atharva put it across a fighting Dhruva Kamat, winning 3-1 (6-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-5). The other semis was a one-sided affair with Rishan emerging on top with a 3-0 (12-10, 11-5, 11-7) win over Chandan Caro.
In the U-15 boys section, Aaron Farias who has been in scintillating form this season, cruised to a convincing 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-8) win over Chandan Caro in the first semis. The other semis was an engaging marathon contest, where Khushal prevailed over Akshan Lawande in a closely fought match, winning with a tight 3-2 (11-2, 10-12, 11-7, 2-11, 11-8) scoreline.
The concluding ranking championship of the season has been organised by the Goa Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Sports authority of Goa (SAG) and the North Goa Table Tennis Development Council, and powered by Bambolim Beach Resort. The finals will be held on Sunday.
