CURTORIM: Bandol United beat Cumborda 3-2 to move into semi-final of the 4th Cumborda Sports Club football tournament organised by Cumborda Sports Club, at the St Alex Church ground, Curtorim on Thursday.
Mackson’s early goal helped Cumborda get the lead in the 7th minute. However, Mario restored parity for Bandol in the 15th minute. Mario was in the thick of action again when his power-packed shot took a deflection of rival Amistron’s leg in the 20th minute to give 2-1 lead for Bandol.
Post resumption, Mario of Bandol completed his hat-trick in the 46th minute.
With three minutes left for the final whistle, Veron of Cumborda made it 2-3. Their last-gasp efforts to find the equaliser eluded them with Bandol moving into the last four.
The man-of-the-match was awarded to Mairon Fernandes from Cumborda SC.
