CHANDRAWADDO-FATORDA: Bardez Veterans shot-out Vasco Veterans 5-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the final of the Fatorda Veterans football tournament, at DBO ground, Murida-Fatorda, on Wednesday.
Vasco’s Francis Desouza and Bibian Fernandes controlled and guided their teams from the midfield with their supplies and guidance throughout the match.
Just in the second minute, Francis Desouza sent in a long ball to striker Ramesh Palkar who shot wide. Two minutes later, Bibian Fernandes sent in a long ball to Kevin but Sheikh Naizi blocked Kevin's move.
As the match progressed in the second half, Bardez’s Benidic Fernandes’ shot was saved by Vasco keeper in the 48th minute. A minute later, substitute Bruno Coutinho took a long range shot which failed failed to pop up into the Vasco net.
Later in the 50th minute, Francis Desouza missed the Bardez target by whisker.
In the tie-breaker, Bardez Veterans netted through Lawrence Cardozo, Bibian Fernandes, Kevin Araujo, Danny Noronha and Bruno Coutinho while Vishant Pednekar, Nelson Landez and Palha found the net for Vasco Veterans.
