RAIA: Batora United got the better of Fondegal Sports Club 7-5 via tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals of 9-a-side football tournament organised by Sporting Club Virabhat at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Monday.
The teams displayed great footballing skills. At full time, both teams played a 3-3 draw. For Fondegal SC, Pritam Dhamaskar scored a brace and Shanon D'Silva netted one goal, while for Batora United, Greanwill Barreto scored a brace and Austin Fernandes netted one.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Batora United proved to be the better shooters. Greanwill Barreto was declared the man-of-the-match, which was presented by Conceicao Castanah, treasurer of Sporting Club Virabhat.
