RAWANFOND-MARGAO: Bhatikar Model High School defeated Shree Damodar Vidyalaya of Comba Margao by nine wickets to emerge champions for the sixth time in a row of the 19th Mukund Trikannad memorial inter-school cricket tournament, organized by Margao Cricket Club and played at Dr Rajendra Prasad Stadium, Margao on Saturday.

Electing to bat first, Shree Damodar Vidyalaya scored just 85 runs in their inning. In reply, Bhatikar Model HS easily chased the winning target with 9 wickets in hand.

Shikha Pandey, India women cricketer was the chief guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of Dinesh Trikkanad and Yogesh Naik, President of Margao CC. 

Individual prizes: Player of the tournament: Sanath Nevgi (Bhatikar Model); Best all-rounder: Nisarg Nagvenkar (Shree Damodar Vidyalaya); best fielders: Prashantkumar (Shree Damodar Vidyalaya) and  Deep Kasvankar (Bhatikar Model).

Score in brief: Shree Damodar Vidyalaya, 85 all out in 35.4 overs (Prashantkumar 18, Sanath Nevgi 4-25) lost to BMHS, 86 for 1 in 20 overs (Sanath Nevgi 28no, Shantanu Nevgi 20 no runs. Amey Loliencar 1-15).
