CAC Cansaulim overcome Salcete, emerge GFA’s Under-15 champs

RAIA: CAC, Cansaulim, overcame Salcete FC registering a hard fought single goal victory in the GFA's Under-15 finals at Benaulim ground, on Wednesday.

Pio Gomendes of Salcette should have netted in the 5th minute but his power-packed shot was saved by Cansaulim goalkeeper Ashish Sawad. It was followed by a counter-move by Jonathan Silva of Cansaulim in the 7th minute, but he faltered.

Salcete then took over and Steven Gomes' move was tackled by Pradeep Kullu of Cansaulim in the 12th minute. Three minutes later, Pio Gomendes' try was thwarted by Sagar Naik.

Suddenly, Cansaulim's Sagar let go a powerful shot. The Salcette goalkeeper pushed it away and the ball fell at the feet of Pradeep Kullu, who at once shot from close range. That happened in the 35th minute  

Salcete tried hard to score but Lloyd Rocha and Pio Gomendes were unsuccessful.
