NAVELIM: Abdoul Ahat Fall put up a magical performance for Calangute Association as the foreign recruit smashed in four goals to help the North Goa team to score a resounding 7-2 win over Guardian Angel Sports Club in the Goa Football Association Goa Professional League match played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Wednesday.
The loss came as a shock to eight-placed Guardian Angel SC who were beaten by a big margin by a 11th placed team.
By virtue of this result, Calagute Association now climbed to 16 points from 21 matches while Guardian Angel remained on 21 points from 20 matches.
Guardian Angel fielded a youthful side who managed to take the lead in the 14th minute through Clinton Niasso. Guardian Angel SC led 1-0 till the 40th minute but the next five minutes were a torment for the young Guardian Angel keeper Ozen Silva who had to get the ball thrice out of his net.
Adoul Fall levelled terms in the 40th minute before Sidath Ndiaye put Calangute ahead in the game in the 43rd minute.
Much to the dismay of the 100 odd spectators who were cheering for the Guardian Angel side, their team conceded another goal in the 45th minute when Sidath completed his brace.
Calangute Association, who led 3-1 at the breather, gave no chance for the Curchorem side to get back in the game as they scored four more goals in the second half.
Sunny Fernandes first pulled a goal back for Guardian Angel to make it 2-3 but from then on, it was all-Calangute affair as they scored goals after goals.
Abdoul Fall scored two goals to complete his brace before Gaurav Vaigankar also go onto the score sheet for Calangute.
In the 79th minute, Abdoul scored his fourth of the evening to complete Calangute’s rout of Guardian Angel SC.
