SANKHALIM: Candolim SC edged past Goa Velha 3-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the Mussa Ali Aga all Goa inter- village football tournament, organised by Eagle Sports Club, Sankhalim, at Sankhali Municipal ground, on Tuesday.
Aniket Agerwadekar of Candolim in the 26th minute off a brilliant downward header to open the account. Candolim further inflated the lead through Bhavesh Kandolkar with a placement shot in the 30th minute.
Goa Velha changed the game plan in the second half and netted two quick goals through Vikrant and Kundan Kundaikar in the 48th and 51st minute respectively.
With just three minutes left for the final whistle, a tricky move by Aniket Agerwadkar of Candolim netted the match-winner for Candolim.
