Churchill Brothers arrange sponsorship for GPL

PANJIM: Goa Football Association, after sustaining without any title sponsor for their main competition —  Goa Professional League for last few years, finally seem to find a great deals for the upcoming season.

The State football association had received proposal from two entities, it seems like the one arranged by the Churchill Brothers SC seems to be in a better position to seal the deal.

Goa Football Association in a press statement said, “Churchill Brothers Sports Club has arranged the sponsorship for Goa Professional League (GPL) through Accord Sports Inc for three years.”

“The Sponsorship has been arranged by Churchill Alemao, President of Churchill Brothers Sports Club and Churchill Brothers Sports Club, CEO , Valanka Alemao with the help of Kolkata’s Deepa Das Munshi, wife of former late AIFF President P . Das Munshi,” Added the press statement.

It is learnt that Accord Sports Inc. have agreed to tie-up with GFA for three seasons for a sum of INR 95,00,000 for three years.

“The Accord Sports will pay Rs. 25 Lakhs for 2020-21, Rs.30 Lakhs for 2021-22 and Rs. 40 Lakhs for 2021-22 with TV, Satellite, Cable, digital coverage, billboards, merchandising, fanzones, screening, branding, etc,” added the statement.

When contacted GFA General Secretary Jovito Lopes states, “The valuable sponsorship is a shot in the arm for the premier Goan Professional League which was in need of a revival.”

With the sponsors coming on board, it’s likely to boost the league and helping in promoting the Goan talent at national platform.
