NAVELIM: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, edged past St Anthony, Marna-Siolim, 3-2 to move into the semi finals of the Gold Silver Rolling Trophy, at Our Lady of Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Sunday.
Siolim coach Salvador Ellwyn planned of fielding Pushparaj Mandrekar on the frontline and Fatorda coach Terance Barbosa fielded Sweton Rebello and Hanslum Furtado who played well.
Fatorda’s Rishabh Karapurkar sent in a long ball to Hanslum Furtado who at once took control of the ball and pulled the trigger from close range the Siolim net in the ninth minute. However Siolim equalised 15 minutes later Sangam Pednekar crossed to Pushparaj Mandrekar who rose high and took a glancing header which crashed into the Fatorda net.
Fatorda further inflated the lead through Sweton Rebello in the 39th minute and made it 2-1.
It was Hanslum Furtado of Fatorda after beating a couple of Siolim defenders took a power packed shot which sailed into Siolim net in the 50th minute and made it 3-1.
Siolim didn't give up hopes as Pushparaj Mandrekar scored one more for Siolim just few minutes before the final whistle and made it 2-3.
