MAPUSA: Dunes Sports Club drubbed Varca Sports Club by 10-2 margin in the GFA’s 2nd Division League, at Duler Stadium, here, on Saturday.

Dunes started in all earnest and went into the breather with a 3-1 lead.

It was Shashanak Ashevekar who opened the account for Dunes in the 16th minute as he scored off a neat placement, while Sylvesla Dias and Vivek Naik accounted for the next two goals. 

Jhonus D’Costa getting hold of a ball drilled a power-packed right footer from outside the box in the 35th minute to reduce the margin for the Varca colts.

On crossing over, Dunes were camped inside the rival territory where they hammered seven goals. Vivek completed his hat-trick with Anand Gad(2), Shashank, Alberto Brito (2) and Reeve D’Costa netting in the second goal for Varca.

Dunes skipper Shashank Asvekar was sent off by the referee while Varca colts Xavier Da Silva and Columban Noronha also received marching orders from the referee.
