GUDI -PARODA: Damodar English HS of Gudi Paroda defeated St Anthony’s HS of Monte de Guirim 4-1 to emerge as champions in the U-17 boys section inter-school hockey tournament organised by Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs at Peddem Hockey Turf ground.
By virtue of this championship – Damodar EHS will represent the State in the Nehru Cup U-17 inter-school hockey tournament which is to be held in New Delhi.
In the final, Pankaj Nayak scored a brace while Krish Gaonkar and Shahjafar Momeen scored a goal each for Damodar EHS. Jeena reduced the margin for St Anthony’s HS. Earlier, in the State semis – Damodar EHS defeated Holy Cross HS of Siolim 3-0. Krish Gaonkar, Shahjafar Momeen and Suhel Gaonkar scored for the winners.
In the girls section – DM’s Kushe HSS defeated St Anthony’s HS Duler by 3-0 goals. Leading by one goal at the breather – Sonam Prajapati scored a brace while Khusboo Rajbhar scored one goal.
